Full Module Curriculum

Module 1 – Azure Security Architecture & Identity Management

Build a strong foundation in Azure cloud security architecture and identity design.

  • Azure Security Fundamentals: Shared Responsibility Model, core cloud security principles, regional and multi-region design considerations
  • Secure Network Architecture: Virtual Networks (VNets), subnet segmentation, Network Security Groups (NSGs), Azure Firewall, and hybrid connectivity
  • Identity & Access Management: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), least-privilege access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Conditional Access policies

Module 2 – Implementing Azure Security Controls

Apply security controls to protect workloads, networks, and identities.

  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud: Threat detection, vulnerability management, and workload protection
  • Network Security Controls: Firewall rules, NAT configurations, and NSG enforcement
  • Azure Key Vault: Secure storage of secrets, keys, and certificates, including rotation and access policies
  • Identity Security: Password policies, risky sign-in detection, monitoring, and alerts

Module 3 – Data Protection, Compliance & Governance

Ensure data security, regulatory compliance, and effective governance.

  • Encryption & Data Protection: Disk encryption, Storage encryption, TLS/SSL, and Key Vault-managed keys
  • Compliance Management: GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and Azure Compliance Manager
  • Governance Frameworks: Azure Policy, Management Groups, tagging strategies, and Azure Blueprints

Module 4 – Security Monitoring & Incident Response

Detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents effectively.

  • Monitoring & Logging: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerts, and dashboards
  • Threat Detection: Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM) integration and threat intelligence
  • Incident Response: Security playbooks, breach investigation, and remediation workflows

Module 5 – Security Automation & Orchestration

Automate security enforcement and compliance at scale.

  • Policy Automation: Azure Policy auto-remediation and policy-driven deployments
  • Security Control Automation: Pre-configured NSGs, firewall rules, Defender settings, and scheduled security audits

Module 6 – Automation Environment Setup

Set up tools required for secure cloud automation.

  • Development Environment: VS Code setup, Azure CLI installation, and PowerShell integration
  • Operational Skills: Script creation and execution, file management, and productivity shortcuts
